Waves splash up against the edge of Kahului Harbor amid choppy conditions on Thursday. The National Weather Service warned of harbor surges and high surf for north-facing shores as two large swells continue to pass through the islands.

Some parts of Maui County saw more than 4 inches of rain as downpours, high surf and strong winds combined forces on Thanksgiving Day. The Puu Alii gauge on Molokai recorded 4.69 inches of rain over a 24-hour period ending at 4 p.m. Thursday, the most in the county, while the West Wailuaiki gauge on Maui logged 4.66 inches, the highest on island, according to the National Weather Service.
